At BrandSafway, we know our employees are our greatest asset, which is why we give them the tools, training and resources to be successful.  Come join our growing Information Technology team.  We are looking for a Business Analyst who is responsible to work with the business teams and the product owner to investigate and analyze issues, document business requirements, and work with the development teams to create and execute test plans and deploy new versions of our applications. This role will consult with Application Support Specialist on application cases needing key subject matter expertise, and for complex cases work directly with end users to understand issues, offer temporary work arounds, as well as collect information for new enhancements to correct application issues discovered by the end users.



Responsibilities
  • Responsible for translating high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications and managing requests for changes to the specifications.
  • Supports the development team to translate functional specifications into technical specifications that can be handed off to development resources.
  • Coordinating with the groups of user acceptance business users who test and validate software changes to ensure requirements are met.
  • Maintains functional and technical peer relationships and detailed working knowledge of the assigned area’s systems, organization, and business processes.
  • Maintains the application backlog and roadmap and works with users and development on prioritization of enhancements and strategic goals.
  • Updates required documentation that tracks monthly release cycle and produces regular reports on support desk case metrics.
  • Provide application specific support to users, monitor user reported defects, resolve issues in real-time with users and follow up on items requiring more involved resolutions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, IT, Information Management, Business Management, or related field.
  • At least five years of business analysis, process improvement, project management, programming, or other IT related experience.
  • Experience with Billing, Payroll, and/or Purchasing process and applications highly desired.
  • Industry experience of Construction, Industrial Services, or Rental Business highly desired.
  • Proficient with proposing high-level design of data integrations, and UI enhancements.  
  • Ability to diagram data flows and mock-up application windows to include in functional specs and to lead discussions.
  • Experience in software development, technology savvy and a good ability to be technically creative to propose application ideas to meet business needs.
  • Effectively interacted with various levels of users, super users, management, and corporate staff in a team-oriented IT environment.
  • Expertise in working within a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in either an Agile or Waterfall Methodology.
  • Understanding of RDBMS and ability to write SQL statements in support of data investigation and diagnosis of application issues.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).
  • Good rapport working directly with development teams.   Collaborative diagnosis of defects and proposing solutions.
  • Proficient working with remote users and team members, ability to lead calls and video conferences and ensure progress is made in virtual meetings.
  • Desire to interact with end users on defect resolution, enhancement proposals, and acceptance testing.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in business terms.
  • Willing to travel as needed, which typically ranges from 5% - 10% depending on the project.
