This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position
Key Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments in an accurate and timely manner
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange transportation of goods
- Ensure all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork is completed correct.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Receive incoming shipments including signing paperwork upon receipt and compare items to BOL (Bill of Landing) and receiving schedule
- Receive jobsite returns and verify all quantities for costing
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Unload packages from incoming trucks
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, etc.) Verifies and adjusts product quantities on received product
- Count items to ensure that the correct number has been received
- Contact Logistics coordinator or shipper if a mistake is identified
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Performs data entry and paperwork for shipments received
- Assist in determining storage areas for incoming shipments and allocate appropriate space within the warehouse
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- A minimum of two (2) years previous experience working in a warehouse environment
- Knowledgeable in shipping management and transaction software, as well as MS Office
- Ability to operate forklifts and similar equipment Forklift operator's license (preferred)
- Familiar with refractory products and anchor metallics, their standard packaging, and storage requirements and subsequent impact and transportation requirements
- Must be able to learn and identify the many different incoming materials by sight and code
- Must be able to bend and lift heavy boxes
- Well-organized, able to multitask but also attentive to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to think quickly and resolve issues
- Must be able to work quickly and maintain a high level of energy throughout the shift
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must demonstrate a proven record of consistent on-time attendance
- Advanced excel and database software proficiency
- Experience with Fishbowl inventory management software
