The Inventory and Returns Receiver is based out of our Edmonton, Alberta branch, reporting to the Construction Manager, this position will be responsible for handling all incoming shipments of refractory products in the Edmonton Warehouse.

Alliance Refractories a leading refractory solutions provider headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta supplies refractory products, installation, maintenance, engineering, design, and quality assurance services throughout Canada in a variety of industries.

Responsibilities
  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
  • Receive job site returns and verify all quantities for costing
  • Unload packages from incoming trucks
  • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, etc.)
  • Contact Logistics coordinator or shipper if a mistake is identified
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
  • Performs data entry and paperwork for shipments received
  • Verifies and adjusts product quantities on received product
  • Receive incoming shipments and compare items to BOL (Bill of Landing) and receiving schedule
  • Count items to ensure that the correct number has been received
  • Assist in determining storage areas for incoming shipments and allocate appropriate space within the warehouse
 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • A minimum of two (2) years previous experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to operate forklifts and similar equipment Forklift operator's license (preferred)
  • Must be able to learn and identify the many different incoming materials by sight and code
  • Inspect incoming loads for cold chain compliance
  • Record damaged or defective items as appropriate
  • Compare the amount and identification numbers of goods against orders
  • Organize records of incoming products
  • Must be able to bend and lift heavy boxes
  • Well-organized, able to multitask but also attentive to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to think quickly and resolve issues
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate receiving employees and train new employees
  • Knowledgeable in shipping management and transaction software, as well as MS Office
  • Familiar with refractory products and anchor metallics, their standard packaging, and storage requirements and subsequent impact and transportation requirements
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate in concise and timely manner
  • Must be able to work quickly and maintain a high level of energy throughout the shift
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must demonstrate a proven record of consistent on-time attendance
  • Advanced excel and database software proficiency preffered
  • Experience with Fishbowl inventory management software preffered
