The base compensation for this role starts at $120,000 annually, based on experience. In addition there is the opportunity for an annual bonus up to 15%. A company vehicle will also be provided. This rate represents the anticipated compensation for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly inspect the work activities at site work locations, yard, warehouses and office maintain a strong safety presence. Help implement and enforce the use of safe work practices and procedures as described in the company safety manuals.
  • Evaluate sites to ensure safety management systems are in place and employees are complying with legal requirements and company policies and procedures (i.e. Perform audits on JSP, the company S.O.S and E.I.S program, and Daily Toolbox Talks, compliance under the Gold Link Safety Recognition program, Work Instruction development and training).
  • Coach employees on working safely. Intervene when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
  • Oversee training and knowledge of BrandSafway Policies and OSHA regulations and guidelines to employees.
  • Investigate health and safety accidents/incidents/situations to accurately determine the sequence of events and determine root causes. Help supervisors prepare proper documentation in accordance with company and legal requirements. Help ensure that accidents/trends/issues/costs are reported to the proper authorities as required.
  • Use Worker's Compensation knowledge to reduce or transfer risk and set up prevention programs/techniques.
  • Oversees the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to cut down on lost employee time and cut back on unjust claims.
  • Makes studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Consults with all departments on the design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention, and safety program.
  • Inspects or tours organization facilities to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Participate in investigating accidents and injuries and cooperates in preparing material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Customer Focus - dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first-hand customer information and uses it for process improvement. Acts with customers in mind. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their true respect.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Health & Safety or Construction Management, or related field from an accredited university preferred, OR minimum 10 years’ experience as a safety professional in general industry.
  • Experience with scaffolding regulations is desirable.
  • Extensive up-to-date safety credentials is desirable.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions
  • Good working knowledge of project management techniques and principles.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a multiple project environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills essential to effectively communicate with branch and field personnel, as well as company executives, external customers and suppliers.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
