Key Responsibilities:

• Design cathodic protection and/or AC mitigation systems for pipelines, tanks, marine structures, and other buried metallic assets. 
• Write material and design specifications for cathodic protection/AC mitigation installations.  
• Provide phone support to field staff to assist in accurate and complete data collection.
• Write work instructions and checklists for field staff for data collection. 
• Manage incoming data sets using industry specific software and Excel.    Check data sets for completeness and integrity.  
• Help to develop, review, and improve technical work instructions, processes, and SOPs.
• Assemble and format data sets for reporting.
• Create and edit Google Earth kmz files.
• Write technical reports (design, survey, commissioning, etc.). 
• Make simple edits to AutoCAD drawings.  (New drawings are created by dedicated AutoCAD technician). 
• Manage integrity software, databases, etc.   Research, test, and select new software to improve MATCOR’s technical services.
• Learn and use specialized design software, such as SES modeling software for AC mitigation.     

Qualifications:

• Must be a strong technical writer and must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.  
• Must have proficiency with data management software and must understand data structure basics.   
• Knowledge of electrical circuit theory and power systems a plus.
• Must be willing and able to learn new software quickly. 
• Must have experience with pipeline integrity testing, or general oil and gas pipeline work. 
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Experience with American Innovations, SES (CDEGS) software, and ArcGIS is a strong plus but not required.
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus but not required.
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
• Must have strong communication skills and must work well in a fast-paced team environment.
• Corrosion Control Engineers are expected to retain AMPP Cathodic Protection Certifications.
• Travel obligation is expected to be less than 25% but may be higher initially and at times to provide on-site exposure to various CP projects for training and development.
