Qualifications:

• Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport within 60 days of employment.
• Experience as a technician in a technical field is an asset.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• CAD knowledge is helpful.
• Ability to multitask and liaise with professionals in different fields.
• Ability to work well under pressure and tight timelines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Must be available as needed to work at the assigned job site and may include weekends and holidays. Overtime is typically required on-site and during turnaround season.
• Punctual and ability to present oneself in a professional manner.
• Ability to travel 25-50% of the time
• Previous similar technical experience is required.
• High school diploma is required and post-secondary education / 2-year technical training such as electronics, mechanical is an asset.
• CWB Level 1 or 2 is an asset.
• Solid understanding of legislation and regulations in different jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API, ABSA, TSASK, and CSA standards and specifications is an asset.
• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Proficiency in MS Office

• Must be able to handle the physical demands that is required in the shop and field. Ability to maneuver heavy objects and handle 50 lbs.
• Long periods of standing and awkward positions should be expected.
• Given the potential dusty environment of the refractory industry, must be able to dawn a full-face respirator at times.
• Hot work is present
• Welding flash risk is present
