Currently, we are hiring a Coating Superintendent to lead our coating projects with expertise and excellence.

About the Role: Coating Superintendent
This is a permanent position; per diem is not included.

As a Coating Superintendent, you will provide essential leadership on our projects, overseeing daily operations related to scheduling, workforce management, coordination, supervision, and cost control. You will ensure the consistent application of safety standards, company policies, and quality expectations. Your role will also involve mentoring and training crew members, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering strong relationships with clients and contractors. Your professionalism and diplomatic approach will be key to maintaining positive and productive partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Leadership: Champion a culture of safety, ensuring all team members work in a secure environment. Take ownership of safety compliance, provide guidance, and hold crews accountable for safety practices.
• Team Supervision & Leadership: Effectively organize and manage crews, applying industry policies and procedures. Support disciplinary actions when necessary, in collaboration with management and HR.
• Training & Development: Serve as the primary trainer for your team, delivering safety and craft training, coaching performance, and providing ongoing mentorship.
• Project Planning & Scheduling: Follow project plans and schedules diligently, ensuring daily and weekly activities align with production goals and deadlines.
• Employee Relations: Uphold HR policies and foster a positive work environment. Support team members by clarifying responsibilities and providing leadership.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets or exceeds customer standards. Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
• Administrative Management: Prepare and maintain accurate reports, documentation, and project records.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a coatings supervisor or superintendent.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or higher is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
• Proven ability to lead multi-craft teams effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing project needs.
• Must meet all hiring requirements and pass background checks.

Knowledge & Competencies:

• Deep understanding of project scope, safety programs, and environmental policies.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local occupational health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in reading drawings, interpreting specifications, and understanding industrial coating processes, products, and equipment.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

This role may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, dust, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level can vary from moderate to loud depending on the project site. Some travel may be required to various project locations.
