The IT Applications Manager functional IT role is 70% management of the functional application team and 30% hands-on business analyst and functional support. The IT Applications Manager will provide direct leadership to to a group of IT business analysts and indirect leadership to developers. The role will be responsible for Order to Billing custom applications and process for the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The management responsibility will be to help define and manage adherence to standards for all functional areas including requirements gathering, functional documentation artifacts, project management, test plans and test cases, user training materials and any other non-development functions appropriate for application projects.
  • Expected to foster an open team environment for exploring technology tools, patterns, frameworks and methodologies and encourage analysts to stay current with industry best practices and technology advancements.
  • Collaborate with Senior Director on a regular basis to make sure the project work is aligned with company strategy. Re prioritize work as needed to meet business demands and alignment with IT Applications roadmap.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in our business and functional analysts to shape business demand and prioritize that demand for delivery. Partner with the development organization to ensure timely delivery of a quality solution.
  • Mentor, coach and guide the team with best practices around process, artifacts and tools for improving results, and building team knowledge and capability for all team roles required for successful completion of projects.
  • Help team learn their velocity and to estimate project and maintenance work effectively to successfully deliver software on time.
  • User Support: Provide first and second-level support to end users and helpdesk, offering assistance and guidance.
  • Trouble Ticket Management: Manage trouble tickets, providing temporary solutions when permanent ones are not immediately available.
  • Issue Investigation and Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues promptly, with guidance from technical/functional leaders.
  • Customer Follow-Up: Follow up with customers on open tickets that exceed acceptable timeframes.
  • Documentation: Document all work carried out in the required formats.
  • Business Process Management: Define, document, and improve order to billing-related business processes, aligning them with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements and implement solutions, acting as a bridge between order to billing users and technical teams.
  • Functional Requirement Gathering: Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional specifications. Support solution design, testing, and validation.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure system controls support SOX, GAAP, and audit requirements. Monitor segregation of duties and system access.
  • Change Management & Training: Manage change requests and system enhancements.
  • Reporting & Insights: Oversee the development of financial dashboards and reports. Support data integrity and consistency across systems.
  • Project Participation: Contribute towards or lead various projects and initiatives. Lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and cut over activities.
  • System Integration: Perform integration work with current and new systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The IT Applications Manager role is key to the success of the team evolving into an enterprise solution delivery team, following best practice processes and fulfilling all functions of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with consistency, quality and speed. The IT Applications Manager will work closely with IT Leadership to define the roadmap/strategy and ensure that our long-term goals of creating an enterprise solution continue to progress while still maintaining our existing suite of applications.

The IT Applications Manager is responsible for periodic performance reviews of the team members, as well as coaching and mentoring as needed to support professional growth in each role on the team.
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Business.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive related experience managing and supporting order to billing systems and processes. Experience with supply chain is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as business analyst or functional support.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a lead or manager.
  • Experience with matrix organization and with globally distributed teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects through complete lifecycle and drive to closure; comfortable with Excel/Microsoft Project for project tracking.
  • ERP experience and knowledge of accounting, required.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL query language, exposure to writing and executing SQL queries.
  • Working knowledge of SOX compliance as it applies to business applications, desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

BrandSafway offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance along with a generous 401k plan. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 annually. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position.
