Responsibilities
  • Accurately ship and receive materials
  • Store received materials in proper locations
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Sort, tag and distribute incoming shipments
  • Report quality variances
  • Ensure pallets and loads are built correctly
  • Support inventory control with accurate documentation
  • Confirm inventory transactions are complete
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed to standard
  • Perform routine inspections on forklifts
  • Maintain an organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations
  • Participate in clean-up of yard and facility
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Operate lifting devices (i.e. forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams and swivel hooks)
 
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a warehouse/shipping environment
  • Previous forklift experience required, valid forklift certification preferred
  • High school diploma
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be detail oriented and able to maintain high standards of accuracy
  • Knowledge of safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to determine the correct tools and equipment needed to complete a task
  • Able to effectively communicate, follow and understand verbal and written directions
  • Ability to work overtime and on weekends if required.
  • All individuals will require successful completion of a pre-access alcohol and drug test.
