Key Responsibilities
- Operates company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner for the pick-up and delivery of equipment, parts, tools and material as directed;
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks;
- Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure;
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate;
- Performs periodic safety and maintenance checks on company vehicles and insures that required maintenance actions are accomplished on schedule and maintains related records;
- Performs general warehousing tasks such as the receiving and storing of parts and material as well as packaging and shipping parts and material and maintains related records;
- Performs daily general housekeeping and janitorial tasks to keep both shop and office spaces clean and orderly;
- Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up;
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours of service (HOS), occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration and weights and dimensions;
- Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form;
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, delivery problems, vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles;
- Must be willing to work in the warehouse and scaffold yard when not out making deliveries or pick ups. This includes pulling orders, counting and putting away returned orders, along with numerous other general warehousing duties
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Related vocational training and/or one year of related experience;
- Valid AZ or DZ drivers' license with clean driving history;
- Ability to work in elevated construction areas without fear of height, requires working in general outdoor weather conditions;
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and carry for extended periods of time (up to 15 minutes) several times during one shift;
- Familiar with MTO regulations;
- Computer experience needed;
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Must display a safety first, positive attitude and be self-motivated
