We are presently seeking a Mechanic for our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia branch. The mechanic will be responsible for repair and maintenance of swing stages, transport platforms, mast climbers, mechanical booms and scissor lifts
Responsibilities
- Diagnose malfunctions, conduct repairs and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and other special systems
- Install, test, and remove conveyors, drive units, heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, compressors, and prime movers
- Welding to repair parts
- Perform and show competence in preventive maintenance per established
- Respond to requests for on-call maintenance after hours
- Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment, etc. required for equipment maintenance and repair
- Keep shop and its equipment clean and serviceable at all times, report any and all deficiencies to management
- Interact with the customer, fellow workers to ensure all service standards are met or exceeded
- Follow all installation and preventative maintenance procedures to ensure the safe, efficient operation of all mechanical equipment
- Prepare specifications, initiate procurement and properly store adequate inventories of required equipment and parts.
- Complete all maintenance/repair documentation in a clear, neat, concise and timely manner
- Adhere to company policies & procedures.
- Mechanic OR a combination of five plus years of trade experience and some high school, college or industry courses in industrial machinery repair and a combination of work experience.
- Mechanically inclined with a good understanding of industrial process & application
- Knowledge of diesel, electrical and heavy equipment would be an asset.
- Valid driver's license
- Strong work ethic, highly motivated, detail oriented, well organized and able to handle heavy work
- Good oral and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and able to make decisions on their own
- Must be able to work & interact with others in a fair and friendly environment
- Knowledge of computer maintenance program an asset
- Must be able to provide their own tools.
